5 Ridiculously Cheap V12 Cars for Sale on Autotrader

European luxury cars are known for offering loads of features and cutting edge technology but even more than that, they tend to be associated with frightening depreciation. This is especially true for top-of-the-line 12-cylinder models. Many from the early 2000s have now lost over $100,000 in value. Here we’ve highlighted six ridiculously cheap, heavily depreciated V12 cars currently listed for sale on Autotrader. Needless to say, many of these will be troublesome from a reliability standpoint but for the right buyer, they present an opportunity to own a rare and exclusive vehicle without spending a lot of money upfront.

2003 BMW 760Li

2003 BMW 760Li – $6,700

The controversially styled fourth-generation BMW 7 Series was offered from the 2001 to 2008 model years. In 760Li form, it packed a 6.0-liter V12 making 439 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. This one is offered by a private seller in Deatsville, Alabama, with 125,000 miles on the odometer. It’s black with a black interior and an asking price of $6,700. Find a BMW 760Li for sale

2002 Mercedes-Benz CL 600

2002 Mercedes-Benz CL 600 – $4,888

The only two-door on our list of V12 cars, the Mercedes-Benz CL is a coupe version of the full-size S-Class sedan. This 2002 CL 600, from the vehicle’s second generation, packs a 5.8-liter V12. Power was a little underwhelming, coming in at just 362 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. With an MSRP of around $120,000 when new, this Mercedes has lost over $115,000 in value since it was new — a staggering figure. This one is located at a dealer in Ardmore, Oklahoma, with 85,000 miles on the odometer and an asking price of just $4,888. Find a Mercedes-Benz CL 600 for sale

2006 Audi A8 L W12

2006 Audi A8 L W12 – $10,000

Audi’s flagship sedan, the A8 competes with the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class. The second-generation A8 was sold from 2003 through 2009, and while most U.S.-market A8s came with a 4.2-liter V8, a 12-cylinder model was offered as well. Configured as two narrow-angle V6 engines aligned side-by-side, Audi and parent company Volkswagen marketed the 12-cylinder as the ‘W12’ due to this odd configuration. Power output was 444 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. As with the other 12-cylinder sedans on this list, depreciation has hit the A8 W12 pretty hard, and examples like this 2006 model can be found for cheap. This one comes with 114,000 miles on the odometer and an asking price of $10,000. It’s located at a dealer in Davenport, Iowa. Find a Audi A8 for sale

2004 Volkswagen Phaeton W12

2004 Volkswagen Phaeton W12 – $11,791

VW was up to some strange stuff in the early 2000s. Despite the fact that Audi offered the full-size A8, VW’s upper brass decided that the People’s Automaker should also offer a full-size luxury sedan, and thus the Phaeton was born. Offering many of the same features as the A8, but sharing its platform with the ultra-premium Bentley Continental Flying Spur, the Phaeton was a tough sell here in the United States. Still, that didn’t stop VW from shooting for the moon and offering it with an available W12 engine — the same unit featured in the A8. This 2004 Phaeton W12 is offered for $11,791 with 91,000 miles on the odometer. Find it at a dealership in Federal Way, Washington. Find a Volkswagen Phaeton for sale

2007 Mercedes-Benz S 600

2007 Mercedes-Benz S 600 – $11,900

The S-Class is arguably the most iconic full-size luxury sedan of all time, but like its competitors, the S-Class depreciates unbelievably quickly. This 2007 model hails from the first model year for the fifth-generation S-Class, which was sold through 2013. The 5.5-liter V12 under the hood of this one makes 510 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. With just 81,000 miles on the odometer, this 2007 S-Class is located at a dealer in Bristol, Connecticut, with an asking price of $11,900. Find a Mercedes-Benz S 600 for sale

  1. It’s interesting that when I search for 12 cylinder Mercedes-Benz in the Autotrader iOS app, that S 600 doesn’t pop up. Apparently because the listing says it’s a 12 cylinder turbo, which isn’t an option when searching.
