If you’re shopping for an affordable car under the $10,000 mark, it doesn’t mean you need to settle for something boring or sparsely equipped. You might be surprised by the luxury car options available to you at this price point with price tags similar to lower-end cars from the same respective model years. Deeper depreciation on luxury vehicles means bad news for whoever bought it new, but great news for the next buyer, which would be you.
Here are seven good used luxury cars you can find on Autotrader for less than $10,000 in 2020.
2009-2014 Acura TSX
If you can get past the look of the infamous “beak” style grille of the second-generation Acura TSX, it’s a darn good luxury car underneath that questionable aesthetic. It came generously equipped at the base level with every U.S.-spec TSX coming standard with leather seating, a sunroof, a USB interface and a memory driver’s seat. Starting in 2010, a brawny V6 was available, turning the TSX into a legitimate sport sedan. You could get one with a manual transmission, but only mated to the base 4-cylinder engine. You could even get a TSX Sport Wagon from 2011-2014. Find an Acura TSX for sale
2008-2013 BMW 1 Series
The BMW 1 Series has already fostered a reputation as one of the most pleasurable BMW models in the brand’s modern history. Available as a coupe or convertible, the 1 Series has everything that people love about BMWs of old: a compact size, agile handling and a no-nonsense driving experience to satisfy the enthusiast. Powered by a strong inline-6 engine with a turbocharged option, every configuration of the 1 Series was available with a manual transmission and is a blast to drive at any speed. 2008-2013 Cadillac CTS
The second-generation Cadillac CTS is in a sweet spot of value and a great option for anyone looking for a nice midsize luxury sedan on a budget. Most CTS models you find on Autotrader will be 4-door sedans, but there were also coupe and wagon variants available. What’s great about the CTS is just how many different configurations of it are available. Between the three body styles, multiple V6 engine options (plus a supercharged V8 if you count the CTS-V, but you won’t find one of those in this price range), an all-wheel drive (AWD) option and even a choice of a manual or automatic transmission, there’s a CTS for just about everybody. 2008-2013 Infiniti G37
The Infiniti G37 is another affordable luxury car with a lot of options within its model range. You can pick coupe, convertible or sedan, automatic or manual, and rear-wheel drive (RWD) or AWD, giving this Infiniti a lot of variety. What they all have in common is the same excellent 3.7-liter V6 engine similar to the one found in the Nissan 370Z. The G37 also has sharp handling, making it a great-driving car overall, plus Infiniti didn’t skimp on the luxurious, comfortable interior. If you need a practical family sedan that’s also fun to drive and has low ownership costs, a G37 sedan would be a great option. Find a Infiniti G37 for sale
2007-2012 Lexus LS
The Lexus LS has been widely praised for having just about everything you could possibly want in a full-size luxury sedan. The Lexus flagship provides comfort, V8 performance, reliability and technology all at superb levels, and you can pretty easily find an early fourth-generation model for less than $10,000. Whether you’re looking for a fancy family car or just like the idea of a big, comfy cruiser for your commute, it’s hard to find a car that does everything well quite like a Lexus LS. If you can find one with the optional Mark Levinson audio system, we highly recommend it. Find a Lexus LS for sale
2008-2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a benchmark in the compact luxury car segment. It nicely balances comfort, performance and build quality in a way that few rivals can match. The one to get in this price range is the W204 generation that ran from 2008-2014. Available as a sedan, coupe or convertible, this C-Class has a composed ride, sharp handling and a nice interior that’s aging gracefully much like its classy exterior. In fact, the look is aging so well that this is a good car for making your friends think you spent more on your car than you did since it still looks like a modern luxury car. 1997-2004 Porsche Boxster
We admit, buying an out-of-warranty Porsche is a bit of a gamble, but a first-generation Porsche Boxster has become a strong value in used roadsters. If you’re looking for something a little more interesting than a Mazda Miata, the Boxster is a 2-seater convertible that is a blast to drive and has a nicer interior than what you’ll find in many other roadsters from this era. The higher-performance Boxster S is a worthwhile upgrade, but no matter which Boxster you go with, we promise you’ll never get bored behind the wheel. Find a Porsche Boxster for sale
