Autonomous Car Involved in Fatal Crash

Tragedy recently struck the world of autonomous cars when a Tesla vehicle collided with a tractor trailer, killing the occupant. According to the New York Times “the driver of a Tesla Model S electric sedan was killed in an accident when the car was in self-driving mode.” The driver has been identified as Jason Brown, 40, of Canton, Ohio. Mr. Brown was not only a Navy Veteran, but also the owner of a technology consulting firm. In addition to his passion for technology, Mr. Brown was also a firm believer in the Tesla company, as well as its mission to deliver cutting edge innovations to consumers. This is the first fatality involving autonomous cars and comes as Federal regulators are beginning to set guidelines for self-driving vehicles. The accident, which occurred on May 7th, is currently under investigation.
