If you’re looking for a special older truck, you’ve found it. This 1981 Datsun 4×4 Pickup is certainly special — and it’s the only Datsun pickup truck currently listed for sale on Autotrader. Offered in the days before Datsun swapped names and became Nissan, these trucks are hearty and impressive, though a lot less common than their Toyota counterparts.
This truck, however, survived quite nicely — and it’s in fantastic shape. That’s probably in part due to the fact that the seller notes this truck has been restored to its current standards, which makes sense given its condition. The seller also says the truck was never a rock crawler or an off-roader, and it shows, as the body looks fantastic and sharp. Mileage isn’t posted, but the truck certainly doesn’t look like a high-mileage vehicle.
Under the hood, this Datsun truck features a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder, and it’s mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and 4-wheel drive. The seller notes this truck has no rust, which is impressive given its age, and further notes that it has ice-cold air conditioning, which is also both impressive and surprising, given its age.
If you’re interested, this truck is finished in red, and it really does clean up well, with a fantastic overall appearance — even if it isn’t Toyota, the typically favored 1980s truck brand. It’s offered by Bay City Motors in San Leandro, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area, for $11,999, and you’re unlikely to find another. Find a Datsun Pickup for sale
