Although there are literally millions of vehicles on Autotrader, there are only a select few with just one example currently listed for sale. As of this moment, the Aston Martin Lagonda is part of that select few. See the 1984 Aston Martin Lagonda models for sale near you
This is not, it should be noted, the only unique group the Lagonda is part of. It’s also a member of the exclusive Aston Martin Sedan Clique (population of two, along with the Rapide), the Insane Steering Wheel Society (of which it should probably be the president) and my personal favorite: It’s the sole member of the Cars That Look Like an Anteater Club. There’s a reason for this: It looks like an anteater.
The Lagonda is one of the most unusual cars ever made — a giant, wedge-shaped 4-door sedan that shouts “1980s!” out of its bizarrely thin snout. Many people have never heard of the Lagonda, and even fewer have ever seen one. But this bright-red 1984 example is currently listed for sale at Autosport Designs in Huntington Station, New York, on Long Island. And it’s probably the coolest example I’ve ever seen.
We’ll start with the color: bright freakin’ red. Was this even available back in 1984? Who cares?! If you’re going to drive around in a Lagonda, you want to announce to the world that you have a Lagonda — because whenever you climb behind the wheel, the Ferrari F40 is, by comparison, common automotive drivel. Bright red is the way to do this.
But nothing could possibly upstage the Lagonda’s interior, and this particular example has an especially nice interior. Finished in tan, it appears to be completely original, right down to the single-post steering wheel, the retractable sunroof covers and the truly giant instrument cluster. I imagine it would be hard to climb inside this car and not burst out laughing.
What you won’t laugh at, however, is the price tag: $115,000. If that seems steep for an ’80s super-sedan, just consider this: Where are you going to find another one? Find a 1984 Aston Martin Lagonda for sale
