The Volkswagen Scirocco is a special car with an enthusiastic following — no surprise considering it’s a sporty hatchback that doesn’t really have a counterpart in the modern North American Volkswagen lineup. It’s an exciting and relatively lightweight car, and its star is on the rise.
This 1986 Scirocco with just 18,500 original miles is one of the most desirable examples around. Sadly, it isn’t the high-performance 16V version, but it’s well-preserved and you’re unlikely to find another one with such low mileage — assuming you can find another Scirocco at all.
Finished in black with a gray interior, this Scirocco looks like how you’d expect an 18,000-mile car to look, save for some wear on the bumpers and wheels that’s most likely attributable to the sun. The interior is in fantastic condition, and everything appears as though it’d be in good working order.
If you’re nostalgic for the days when you used to drive a Scirocco, you might want to consider this car, as you’re unlikely to come across another one any time soon. It’s offered by Manahawkin Kia in Manahawkin, New Jersey, for just $7,995, which strikes me as a pretty good deal for a pretty special old VW. Find a Volkswagen Scirocco for sale
