If you're looking for a perfect Cadillac Allante -- and you aren't, but it's still fun to look -- this is one of the nicest you'll find. It's a 1989 Allante with just 1,646 original miles, and it's offered for $24,895 by Select Motor Cars in the small town of Deer Park, New York.

Before we get into the details, let's talk Allante. This is truly one of the most bizarre vehicles, as it involved a Boeing 747. Bodies for the Allante were assembled in Italy, then shipped to the United States on cargo planes for final assembly. This gave the car something of a European flair, which Cadillac touted at the time -- but it also made the production process ridiculously expensive.

Still, when the Allante came out, everyone assumed it would be a major collectible, given its unique position in the Cadillac lineup and its unusual production situation. As a result, many people preserved Allantes, thinking the value would shoot up in the future. It didn't, of course, and so these preserved Allantes seem to trickle out on to the market here and there, a few a year, offered by people giving up on the car's "someday it'll be worth something" status.

But this one was better-preserved than most. It's a 1989 model, meaning it hails from the car's third model year, and it has indeed covered just 1,646 miles. The Carfax report is quite interesting, showing only two events: One from 2011 with 1,315 miles, and another from the current listing showing the mileage at 1,646. It's likely the car was titled years ago and never driven, meaning the registration was never renewed -- and, thus, the Carfax report didn't pick up future events.

And all that makes it probably the nicest Allante left. The list price is fairly expensive for an Allante, but you probably won't find another like this -- and so, for the discerning Allante collector, here's your chance to own a perfect one.
