If you’re buying a ’94 Mustang from the Chicago area, you might check for rust or ask about the car’s use in heavy snow or freezing temperatures — unless, of course, you’re buying this ’94 Mustang, because this one only has 42 miles on the odometer. Offered by Ron Tirapelli Ford in the suburban Chicago village of Shorewood, Illinois, this 1994 Ford Mustang Cobra convertible has apparently been sitting in the showroom for 20 years. It’s never been titled, never been registered and never really been driven. It has 42 miles on the odometer. This is not a misprint. I do not mean 42,000 miles. I mean 42. The number after 41.
Finished in red with 5-spoke original Mustang Cobra wheels, it includes a tan interior, a tan top and a manual transmission. It also boasts the Indy 500 Pace Car package, which gives it these cool decals on the side that read "Official Pace Car — May 29, 1994," even though this Mustang couldn’t possibly be the official pace car from that race, since its total mileage is good for just 16 trips around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Anyway, if you want what might just be the last time-capsule ’94 Mustang Cobra convertible still for sale, this is probably your final chance. Unfortunately, it’s offered at $50,000, which is a pricey sum for a Mustang from this era — then again, there aren’t exactly many others to choose from. Find a 1994 Ford Mustang for sale
