Autotrader Find: 1995 Mercedes-Benz SL600 With Under 9,000 Miles

Here’s a 1995 Mercedes-Benz SL600 that’s absolutely amazing. This particular SL600, from the "R127" generation that lasted from 1990 until 2002, is in absolutely perfect condition, and it’s traveled just 8,800 miles since it was sold more than 20 years ago.

Offered by Isringhausen Imports, a well-known exotic car dealership in Springfield, Illinois, this SL600 checks all the boxes, starting with the fact that it features the car’s flagship engine, a 6.0-liter V12. That powerplant made 390 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, and it sent the car to 60 miles per hour in under 6 seconds — a big deal for 1995. Back then, this was the SL to have.

But rather than drive it, the owner of this particular car apparently decided to keep it in pristine condition — and so, more than 20 years later, it still is. This car has traveled a mere 8,874 miles from new, and it has the wear you’d expect from a car that’s been driven so little, with virtually no wear marks on the seats and a perfect body that appears free from dents and scratches.

The Carfax report sheds some light into the car’s ownership history. It was sold new in the fall of 1994 to an owner in New Hartford, New York, which is in upstate New York near Utica. Eventually, it went to a second owner in the same area before moving to Florida, likely when the car owner retired. Both the first owner and the second owner apparently barely drove the car, instead keeping it pristine and free from miles.

Now it’s offered by Isringhausen Imports, where it’s listed for $35,900 — not that much money for a car that will, surely, someday become an esteemed classic, just like Mercedes-Benz SL models from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
