If you've ever wanted an original, untouched, largely new 1990s "Panther"-platform sedan ... here's your chance. This is a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis, finished in blue with a blue interior, with just 13,727 miles on the odometer. That's not a misprint: This is a 20-year-old Grand Marquis that's traveled just 13,727 miles.

According to the Carfax report, this Grand Marquis has a rather interesting story to tell. It was purchased new in Fort Myers, Florida, on May 30, 1997 -- and it stayed with the first owner through May 2000, when it had 6,600 miles. At that point, the next owner apparently kept the Florida registration but moved the car to the tiny town of Flynn, Texas, where it added just 7,000 miles over the next 17 years.

And now, it's available for sale. It's offered by Lee Auto Group in Fort Myers, with an asking price of just $10,900 -- a high figure for a '97 Grand Marquis, but one that's possibly appropriate for a Grand Marquis in this amazing condition. And it's a truly amazing Grand Marquis, as this car looks like an absolute time capsule. There's virtually no wear on the seats, the steering wheel, the interior or the body, and it appears the car doesn't have a single aftermarket modification.

Referred to in the listing as "the ultimate Florida condo car," this Grand Marquis would indeed be a pretty special vehicle for someone who plans to use it sparingly, perhaps when they're at a second home in Florida, and otherwise gawk at its old-school 1990s American craftsmanship. No matter what happens to it, I hope it's preserved. There simply can't be too many more like this one.
