Autotrader Find: 1997 Volkswagen Eurovan With Matching Trailer

This is certainly an interesting one. Here’s a 1997 Volkswagen Eurovan that’s currently listed for sale on Autotrader with all the good stuff: a pop-up tent, which is a desirable feature in Eurovan models, a custom air conditioning unit, a fridge, a stove, a sink and … a trailer that looks like a mini Eurovan.

Normally when I find my Autotrader Find vehicles, I make sure they have a lot of great photos — and you’ll notice this vehicle only has one. Typically, that would disqualify it from inclusion here, but I couldn’t help myself. This is an Eurovan … towing a baby Eurovan. It’s just excellent.

Interestingly, the ad doesn’t dive deep into the trailer, which I find to be absolutely fascinating — especially considering that it opens in two directions, with Eurovan liftgates at both the front and back. The ad merely calls it a “custom trailer” and notes that there’s a 1.5-in lift on it, and that the trailer was “imported from Europe” with “maybe 10 like it in the states.” There are … OTHERS?!

The ad also goes through the other features of this Eurovan, which uses Volkswagen’s 2.8-liter VR6 engine and touts just 39,000 miles from new. But to me, it’s the trailer that makes this so scintillating — and both Eurovan and trailer are currently being offered by a private seller in the Dallas area for $33,850.

  1. Ahh, the memories of the Eurovan. My grandparents had a T3 Westfalia when I was a kid. The dealer who they bought it from sent them a VHS tape on the Eurovan. I specifically remember the driving experience being described as ‘cornering like a European sedan.’ That’d be a good one to review, because I have a feeling it isn’t.
