Autotrader Find: 1999 Aston Martin V8 Vantage For $650,000

Here’s a supremely rare car that’s happened to make its way to Autotrader. This is a 1999 Aston Martin V8 Vantage, based on the 1990s Aston Martin Virage, and it’s one of just 280 in existence — and this particular model is even more special than that with a price tag to match.

First, an overview of exactly what this car is. Back in the early 1990s, Aston Martin debuted a luxury sporty touring car called the Virage, which was intended to complement the more agile DB7. The Virage was a special car in its own right, and it led to a rare performance model called the Vantage. Then there was an even rarer version of that: the Virage Vantage LeMans Edition, of which just 40 were built for the whole world.

This is one of those LeMans Edition models, number 21 out of 40 — and it truly looks flawless. The mileage isn’t listed, but it can’t be very high, as the interior and exterior are almost perfect, which is an amazing feature when you consider the car’s age. This particular car is finished in green with a green and tan interior, and it puts out an amazing 605 horsepower and 604 lb-ft of torque from its 5.3-liter twin-supercharged V8.

These days, finding any Virage is hard, and this model is especially uncommon. It’s offered by Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, Connecticut, which is the Aston Martin franchise dealership, and it’s listed for $650,000. That’s huge money, of course, but this is an extraordinary car — and it’ll be prized by an Aston Martin enthusiast. Find an Aston Martin Vantage for sale

  1. A customer of ours collects Aston-Martins and he has one of these V600 LMs. IIRC, there were only 22 LHD models built, and he has the only red LHD one. I believe he paid $800000 for it a couple years ago.

  2. This is the kind of cars I wish you could review more often, Doug. Even if more than half of your audience wouldn’t give it a second look. Your Vanquish video is very underrated. Wonderful car, largely ignored.
