Today on Autotrader Find, I've discovered something truly special: a 2003 Chevy SSR with only 150 original miles. This is for all you readers out there who have e-mailed me, begging me to find you a showroom-fresh SSR.

So what's the deal with this SSR? Offered by Adams Chevrolet in lovely Havre de Grace, Maryland, halfway between Philadelphia and Washington, D.C, this black 2003 SSR has indeed covered just 150 original miles from new -- as confirmed by the odometer reading in the listing. I'm not sure just how many ultra-pristine SSRs are left, but, well, this is one of them.

Interestingly, the price premium for a pristine, zero-mile SSR like this one isn't as much as you might expect. While someone with a 150-mile 2003 BMW M5 would probably be asking $60,000 or $70,000 for the vehicle -- despite market prices of around $20,000 for cars with normal miles -- the SSR situation is different: The average asking price on Autotrader for an average SSR is $24,000; you can pick up this one for $34,500.

With that said, the SSR story is a little more complicated than that. Although the truck came out in 2003, you don't really want an early one: The pickup initially used a 300-horsepower 5.3-liter V8, but then, in 2005, got a huge power bump to a 390-hp 6.0-liter V8. So if you get this factory-fresh SSR, you'll lose out on the later horsepower increase.

Then again, that assumes you plan on driving it. As a museum piece, an oddity, a show-stopper, an ode to prebankruptcy General Motors and one of the strangest vehicles it ever built, it doesn't matter how much horsepower you have -- it only matters that you have the original airbag warning tag still hanging from the glovebox. This one does.
