This is the highest-mileage Maybach I’ve ever seen. It’s a 2004 Maybach 57, and it’s covered a whopping 103,000 miles — meaning it was likely used as daily transportation. That’s unusual for a Maybach, once intended to rival the Rolls-Royce Phantom, as most Maybach owners tucked away their cars and used them only for special occasions — but not the owner of this one.
This particular Maybach is a “57” model, meaning it’s the short-wheelbase, non-limousine version. It’s traveled 103,300 miles from new, and it’s currently offered by a private seller in Scottsdale, Arizona, for just $49,900, making it one of the least-expensive Maybach models on Autotrader. That figure is also a far cry from its original price of more than $300,000, as this Maybach has lost a ridiculous amount of value in just 15 years.
On the inside, of course, it’s still as luxurious as ever, with pillows on the rear head rests, power-operated curtains for the rear and side windows, rear screens and massive interior room. The Maybach 57 shared its powertrain with the Mercedes-Benz S600, meaning it had a 543-horsepower twin-turbo V12, and, of course, the ultra-smooth ride to go along with it.
According to the Carfax report for this Maybach, it was sold new in Las Vegas, and it was likely among the first Maybach models on the road in the fall of 2003. The first owner added an immense 66,000 miles in the first four years of ownership, while the current owner — the car’s third — has had it for about 10 years and added roughly 40,000 miles in that time.
It may not be the world’s most cutting-edge luxury sedan anymore, but this Maybach is still gloriously luxurious — and now it’s cheap.
