Autotrader Find: 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited … With 2,243 Miles

In the world of the “TJ” Jeep Wrangler, this might just be the ultimate: an “Unlimited” model, from the TJ’s final year of 2006, with a few desirable modifications … boasting an odometer reading of just 2,243 miles. Yes, that figure is correct — and this Wrangler is currently for sale at The Wrangler Ranch in rural Cleveland, Georgia, for $36,500.

Before I get into the particulars of this used Jeep Wrangler two-door for sale, let’s discuss the “TJ” Wrangler in general. It debuted in the late 1990s as a replacement for the aging YJ, and it was generally well-accepted — especially since most TJ models used Jeep’s die-hard 4.0-liter straight-six engine. Near the end of the TJ’s run, Jeep made its most drastic change to the Wrangler up to that point: a long-wheelbase model, with more room in back, dubbed the “Unlimited.” (Of course, we all know what happened next: When the Wrangler was redesigned in 2007, the Unlimited now had four doors — and it’s become a huge seller.)

This particular TJ is one of those rare Unlimited models, with the obvious wheelbase stretch for more interior room. Additionally, it sports a few desirable off-road accessories, like Nitto tires, a lift, off-road shocks and a Warn winch. Those items alone, plus the long wheelbase, make this Wrangler especially desirable — but the most impressive part is, of course, the odometer reading.

And, indeed, 2,243 miles is truly amazing for any vehicle designed to get used, driven and off-roaded. It doesn’t seem even slightly fraudulent, either: The Carfax report confirms the low mileage, and notes the vehicle was with one single owner in Cleveland, Georgia, from its original sale date in October 2005 to its arrival in The Wrangler Ranch’s inventory.

Yes, $36,500 is expensive — especially when you can get a new Wrangler for that money. But if you wax nostalgic about the older Wranglers, well, then you’re in luck — because this might be your last chance to buy a new TJ. Find a 2006 Jeep Wrangler for sale

  1. Thats not a bad looking LJ, and they command really good prices.

I do have to say, the LJ wasnt done to make more legroom, it was done to make for more stability on trails, and was copied from AEV stretched models, since Jeep and AEV go together like Mercedes and Brabus.
