If you missed your chance to buy a brand-new Pontiac GTO when it was originally sold, from 2004 to 2006, I have good news for you: Your chance has now officially come again. Because this 2006 Pontiac GTO is currently listed for sale on Autotrader with 22 miles. Not 22,000 miles, to be clear. Twenty-two miles. It has driven the distance to Target and back.

Offered for $36,900 by a private seller in the Chicago suburb of Algonquin, Illinois, this GTO is finished in black, with a red and black interior and ... 22 miles. The ad, oddly, doesn't explain why the car has 22 miles, but notes simply that the "car has only 22 miles, yes 22 miles. Private seller." Then the ad covers all the specific features the car has, many of which have presumably never been used.

Like you, I'm a bit curious how this whole 22-mile thing happened, but I think we can all surmise it went a little something like this: It was the final year of the GTO, the owner saw the massive run-up in prices of original 1960s GTOs, and so he decided it would be a good idea to store this one away until it was worth $300,000.

This, of course, begs the question of ... why is it being sold now? After all, the 2006 GTO started at $32,300 back when it was new, 11 years ago, and that figure would be worth roughly $41,800 in 2017 dollars -- meaning this GTO has lost value over time. So perhaps the owner got tired of it taking up space in his garage? Perhaps he passed away, and his heirs don't want to wait 40 more years to see the values rise? Or maybe he just wants a new Camaro?

Either way, this is probably the most pristine GTO left. Enjoy it.
