Autotrader Find: 2008 Lamborghini Reventon for $1,685,900

One of the rarest modern Lamborghini models has just been listed for sale on Autotrader. It’s called the Lamborghini Reventon, and it’s one of just 21 made in the entire world. This one is particularly special, as it’s traveled just 150 miles since new — and now it’s for sale in pristine condition at Marshall Goldman Motors, a well-known exotic-car dealership near Cleveland.

To start, a little history on the Reventon. Although it may look like a Murcielago, and while it shares an engine with the Murcielago (and while Autotrader classifies it as a "Murcielago Reventon"), Lamborghini insisted the Reventon was a different vehicle, offering new styling and an impressive gauge cluster screen designed to resemble what you’d expect from a fighter jet. The Reventon also featured slightly updated styling from the Murcielago, though its Murcielago roots are still obvious.

Despite relatively minimal changes from the Murcielago, Lamborghini sold 20 Reventon coupe models (holding the last one back for its museum) for something like $1.5 million each; Lamborghini also built 15 examples of the Reventon Roadster, which apparently sold for around $2 million. That makes this example seem relatively reasonable at just under $1.69 million, especially considering the recent appreciation in collectible cars since the Reventon first went on sale in 2008.

And, most importantly, this one is basically brand-new. It was apparently sold new by Lamborghini Houston in 2008 before going to a subsequent owner in Florida in 2011. A third owner registered the car in Montana (surely for tax purposes) in 2014 — but none of the three owners drove the car much, and now it’s in nearly new condition with just 150 miles. Find a Lamborghini Murcielago for sale

  1. We insist it is not a Murcielago. Please ignore the stock Murcielago photograph on the owner’s manual. Our photographer was out sick.

  2. This is more an aventador prototype car build from a murcielago. The only interest is his rarity. For the rest, buy a current Aventador S or SV and same the rest of the money from the 1.7M$. Or, better, buy a Huracan Performante, the best supercar around today and  same even more money!
