Autotrader Find: Massive 2008 Ford F-650 for $74,000

Here’s something huge: It’s a 2008 Ford F-650, currently listed for sale on Autotrader by a private seller in Draper, Utah, not far from Salt Lake City, with around 25,000 miles on the odometer. The asking price is $74,000. This will make your neighbor’s heavy-duty Silverado look like a Micro Machine.

If you’ve never heard of the F-650, then it’s time for a little teaching. As you probably know, Ford makes the F-150, and a lot of people buy it, and they also make the F-250 and the F-350, and a lot of people buy those, too, primarily to haul horse trailers or at least laugh at their friends in F-150s. But the Ford F-Series extends above that — there are also F-450, F-550, F-650 and even F-750 models for specific commercial uses like box trucks and ambulances.

But you don’t have to be a commercial user to own such a massive truck — and, indeed, Ford once sold the F-650 to regular people, using the chassis, powertrain and front end from commercial trucks, married with the cab and bed from a regular F-350 Super Duty. And that’s what we have here: a 2008 F-650, painted in red, with the "Additional Entertainment package." Yes, this truck has a rear-seat entertainment system. It also requires not one but two steps to climb inside.

So what’s the story with this one? The Carfax report appears to show it was sold new to the current owner back in January 2008, and it’s been driven sparingly since, racking up just 25,000 miles. The asking price of $74,000 is not out of line with these, as they’re revered for their amazing capability — and, among truck lovers, for their hugeness. And now’s your chance to own one. Find a Ford truck for sale
