Here's the nicest Lincoln Blackwood for sale on Autotrader. Surprisingly, this is a difficult feat, as there about a dozen Lincoln Blackwoods currently listed for sale on Autotrader. But this is, unequivocally, the nicest: It's a 2002 model, as most Blackwoods are, with just 22,500 miles, a lifetime history in sunny California and a one-owner Carfax report.

Before I cover any further details of this Blackwood, let's take a trip down memory lane to discuss the Blackwood in general. The Blackwood was born in the early 2000s out of a bit of Ford market research that discovered most Lincoln owners also owned a pickup -- which makes sense. Presumably, people bought a Lincoln for around-town driving and a pickup for whatever hauling they needed. So the thinking was: Why not combine it? Give people a Lincoln pickup so they don't need to buy a separate vehicle.

The result was the Blackwood, a 4-door pickup offered only with 2-wheel drive and a V8 engine. Interestingly, it was also sold with lines painted down the side of the bed (intended to resemble wood, I think) and, inexplicably, a cover over the bed like a trunk. Utility was marginal, as the Blackwood's payload capacity could be exceeded with four large adults inside, and the interior ended up being little improved from that of a Ford F-150, save for some extra leather.

Oh, and a navigation system. The navigation system was standard, it was mounted on the floor, and it used a tiny screen and just four buttons; I can only imagine the difficulty one would have in using this navigation system today.

This particular truck has all the aforementioned items -- the navigation system even appears to work -- along with some sort of aftermarket wheels, which can hopefully be swapped back to the original for us Blackwood collectors. It's offered for sale by Allen Motors in Thousand Oaks, California -- and yes, it's covered just 22,500 miles, with virtually all being added in the first 8 years of the truck's life, and few in the 7 years since. It is, by all indications, the dream Blackwood for anyone interested in a Blackwood. And it can be yours for just $19,995.
