Autotrader Find: Ultra-Modified 1996 Chevy Silverado 3500

If you’re looking for a head-turning pickup truck, you’ve certainly found one. What you see here is a 1996 Chevy Silverado 3500, the heavy-duty version of the mid-1990s Chevy pickup truck, and it’s been modified in a truly amazing manner. To start, the suspension is so low that it’s currently sitting completely on the ground.

And that’s just the beginning. This truck is finished in black, but it has absolutely massive red wheels. The suspension, which is surely adjustable, can literally place the truck on the ground, to the point where it actually looks like a small sedan when it’s all the way down. Then there’s the interior, which is modified to an almost unbelievable degree, with red seats, a crazy steering wheel and a ridiculously customized dashboard that completely transforms the entire look of the truck — this is hardly a 1996 Chevy pickup anymore.

Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t give us many clues about all the modifications this truck has received, which are obviously extensive. Instead, it simply says "Available Now," which is good to know, but I’m curious about exactly what has gone into this truck, as there’s clearly a lot of work that’s been done. I also wouldn’t be surprised if it was prepared as a SEMA show car, since most trucks like this aren’t built for individuals, but rather to show off the work of a custom shop.

Regardless of what’s in the truck and why, it’s listed by Luxury Auto Collection in the Phoenix area for $35,000, which is probably a lot less than it cost to build it in the first place. Find a Chevrolet Silverado 3500 for sale

  1. Doug, I’ve noticed that you always refer to later model C/K’s as Silverados. Obviously this one has the front end of a second gen Silverado, but why do you use this terminology as a rule?
