Autotrader Find: Ultra-Rare 2009 Chevy HHR SS Panel

If you’re looking for a really, really fast delivery van, you’ve found it. This is a 2009 Chevrolet HHR SS, but it’s not just any HHR SS: it’s the panel van version. These are incredibly rare, to the point where I’ve only seen two or three in my life — and now this one’s for sale on Autotrader.

A little background: The Chevrolet HHR debuted for the 2006 model year as a direct rival to the popular Chrysler PT Cruiser. For 2008, Chevy added a high-performance version that bumped power from 175 horses to a whopping 260 — a big figure. Chevy also offered a panel version of the HHR, which had no windows or seats in back, for delivery companies. You can probably see where I’m going with this: At some point, Chevy combined them.

According to the information I have, Chevy offered the HHR SS Panel only for the 2009 model year, meaning you could have a high-performance, turbocharged … delivery van. It was a ridiculous vehicle and it sold virtually no units, unsurprisingly. This particular example is the ultimate HHR SS Panel, as it even includes a manual transmission, which wasn’t in all of them.

It appears that this HHR SS Panel has been babied, as it’s traveled less than 10,000 miles from new — and the seller knows exactly the rarity, which is reflected in the $33,000 asking price. It’s offered in Missouri City, Texas, and if you’ve been looking for an ultra-rare modern car like this, here’s your chance. Find a Chevrolet HHR for sale

  1. The asking price here is simply insane, but it’s a hella cool car. Only 216 were made, specifically, and I was lucky enough to spot one last year, albeit was in pretty rough shape.
