California Nissan Dealers to Replace In-Cabin Filters for Free

As a response to the devastating wildfires that have been spreading through California, Nissan is offering a free in-cabin air filter inspection and, if needed, a replacement at select dealers. This offer applies to all Nissan vehicles equipped with an in-cabin air filter and even vehicles from other brands, but there are some exclusions based on part availability.

This is important because in-cabin air filters filter out dust, exhaust gases and many other contaminants to maintain good air quality inside your car. Since the California wildfires have caused significant air quality issues in affected areas, getting your in-cabin air filter inspected and replaced if needed can make a big impact on the air you and your passengers breathe in your vehicle.

"We are heartbroken by the devastation of these wildfires and want to help those who have been affected in some way," said Kevin Wagstaff, regional vice president, Nissan North America in a statement. "We can only hope this offer of a free in-cabin microfilter replacement provides some relief as communities begin to rebuild."

There are 50 Nissan dealers located in Northern California, the Central Valley and Northern Los Angeles that are participating in this initiative. The in-cabin air filter inspection is free and if the service department determines you need a new one, the parts and labor for the installation are free as well. On top of the filter service, Nissan vehicles will also get a free multi-point inspection. This service is available through January 31, 2019, so if you’re in an area affected by California wildfires, you’ll want to contact your local dealer soon.
