FIAT Abarth Cabrio: Topless

A swimsuit and a scorpion star in the Super Bowl ad for the 2013 FIAT 500 Abarth Cabrio. The ad, dubbed Topless, shows a scorpion snipping off a sunbather’s top just as the new “topless” FIAT 500 Abarth Cabrio rockets past.

The 500 Abarth Cabrio rounds out the 500 lineup, which now includes three flavors of its 4-cylinder engine. Base models get a 101-horsepower non-turbo engine, while the new 500 Turbo features a 135-hp turbocharged version. The high-performance Abarth is on top, with the turbocharged 4-cylinder tuned up to a peppy 160 hp.

But until now, the Abarth version has only been available as a hatchback. That changes early in 2013, when the FIAT 500 Abarth Cabrio convertible goes on sale. It will use the same engine as its hardtop sibling, though prices will likely start slightly higher than the Abarth hardtop’s $22,700 base price.
