When you’re looking for real estate in New York City it’s all about location. The same goes for the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). Location is everything. And AutoTrader has some serious upfront footage at this show. Specifically, right next to the entrance. In other words, it’s impossible to miss.
Now add to that a great looking group of savvy AutoTrader specialists, a bright display area filled with gaming computers – a few of which are devoted to the website – and a wall-sized flat screen where competitors can view their scores.
The booth attracts people of all ages and sizes – from toddlers tall enough to touch the keyboard and teens looking to buy a first car to show veterans who have been using AutoTrader for years.
The competitions that AutoTrader implemented at the Seattle Auto Show last year kicked off the ongoing campaign and slogan, “Find the Car Your Heart and Mind Can Agree On.”
The truth is AutoTrader wants car buying to be more fun. To ensure that happens, giveaways are abundant. From the bright orange Auto Trader backpack with a t-shirt to a $10 Visa gift card, there are contests on a frequent basis. The big prize at the NYIAS is an iPad – the prize goes to the highest scorer after completion of the show.
Besides the gamers, there were also serious shoppers at the booth. “We’re here to buy a car,” explained one young couple, baby in tow. By the time the AutoTrader specialist asked them a few questions and explained the logistics of the site, the new customers were logged on and ready to rock. Oh, and for their interest, they were handed a swag bag.
