If you’re looking for an exciting sedan on a $50,000 budget, there are several new models you can buy — but, of course, your money always goes a little further if you buy used. Obviously, many shoppers worry about buying used, since maintenance and repair costs may seem daunting — but that’s where certified pre-owned vehicles come in. CPO vehicles are a few years old and heavily discounted from new, but they still include a few years of manufacturer-backed warranty for peace of mind. Here are five great CPO sport sedans for under $50,000.
2018 Audi S4 – $49,493
The Audi S4 doesn’t quite have the performance of some of the other cars on this list, as it’s limited to “only” 354 horsepower — but that means it has a cheaper entry price. The result is that you can pick up a one-year-old certified pre-owned S4 for under $50,000, which is impressive as the rest of the vehicles on this list are all 2016 models. This S4 is finished in a handsome Navarra Blue, and it’s offered by Weeks Pre-Owned in Connecticut with just 13,800 miles for $49,493.
2016 BMW M3 – $46,500
The BMW M3 is one of the most exciting cars on this list — especially in this M3’s thrilling Yas Marina Blue, which is an especially head-turning color. The M3 offers 425 hp and rear-wheel drive — and while a new M3 is well over $60,000, this one is available with a certified pre-owned warranty and just 33,400 miles from BMW Encinitas in the San Diego area for $46,500.
2016 Cadillac ATS-V – $44,995
The ATS-V may not have the name recognition of the BMW M3 or the Mercedes-AMG C63, but it’s a desirable car in its own right — one with impressive performance, strong handling and an appealing 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 464 hp. This ATS-V is also offered with Cadillac’s excellent certified pre-owned warranty, which covers vehicles for up to 6 years or 100,000 miles from new. This ATS-V is offered by Germain Cadillac in Columbus, Ohio, for $44,995, and it’s traveled just 9,555 miles.
2016 Maserati Ghibli S Q4 – $44,792
Although I’m not a big fan of the Maserati Ghibli at its original window sticker price, it’s hard to deny the appeal of a certified pre-owned model. Maserati’s CPO program is impressive, with coverage for up to six years with no mileage limit — and the Ghibli has depreciated to the point where it’s starting to become a seriously attractive car. This 2016 Ghibli S Q4 offers all-wheel drive, 404 hp, and the alluring Maserati brand name, plus that CPO warranty — all for just $44,792. It’s offered by Ferrari Maserati of New England in the Boston area with 45,500 miles. Find a Maserati Ghibli for sale
2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 – $49,393
With 503 hp, the C63 is the most powerful car on this list — but it’s also the most expensive, as this is the cheapest certified pre-owned C63 in the entire country, and it just barely fits into our $50,000 budget. It’s offered with 36,400 miles by Mercedes-Benz of Fort Mitchell in Kentucky, and it’s finished in black with a red and black interior.
