Later today, I’m going to show you a video with a pickup truck. So right now, I thought it’d be fitting to show you some really unusual pickup trucks. I’ve spent some time combing the Autotrader listings to find the five craziest modified pickup trucks for sale on Autotrader — and here’s the list of five special trucks that are quite a bit different from their original form.
Here’s a 1985 Chevy pickup that looks very different from every other 1985 Chevy pickup. Not only is it orange with purple stripes, but the description notes that it’s a frame-off restoration with a 500-cu in. big block V8 — and the frame has been adjusted to accommodate the air suspension system that’s been added. The interior is reminiscent of a 1950s Corvette, and the body features an enormous amount of custom work, from a new grille to Corvette taillights, and many changes in between. This truck is offered by a private seller in Edmond, Oklahoma — and given the level of modifications, it seems like a pretty good deal for $49,879. Find a Chevrolet Pickup for sale
Like the pickup above, this 1991 Chevy S-10 is very different from all other 1991 S-10 models. The first clue comes when you merely glance at it, and you see the custom paint job (with flames, of course), the chrome wheels and the large rear tires. Rear-hinged doors are another custom item, but the real fun comes under the hood: This S-10 uses a huge 400-cu in. V8, which is a huge upgrade over the 2.8-liter V6 it left the factory with. It’s also full of many other custom items, including air suspension, and it’s offered for $21,500 by John Kufleitner’s Gallery of Vintage Cars in Northeast Ohio. Find a Chevrolet S-10 Pickup for sale
This 2015 Ford F-350 Platinum was a SEMA build, and oh, boy, was it a special one. This truck features an absolutely huge lift with everything under the body painted in some eye-catching color, with standout shades being gold and teal. There’s also custom air suspension, performance modifications for 650 horsepower and 1,100 lb-ft of torque, 26-inch wheels, and many other upgrades — so many that the listing dealer says over $169,000 was invested in this truck. It’s currently offered with 24,500 miles by a private seller in Jacksonville, Florida, for $97,850. Find a Ford F-350 for sale
Although this 1997 Ford F-800 is listed as an F-450, it is, indeed, an F-800 — a massive, huge truck that’s been enlarged to become even more massive and huge by the current owner. A huge work truck from the factory, this truck features a crew cab body style and an 8.3-liter V8 engine — but the current owner decided that wasn’t enough, adding a sleeper cab for overnight journeys. The sleeper cab has dedicated heating, fans, USB ports and LED lighting, and it seats five. The truck can also tow and haul whatever you need, and it seems like the perfect long-haul adventure vehicle. It’s currently offered by a private seller in Meridian, Idaho, with 140,000 miles for $19,995. Find a Ford F-450 for sale
This 2016 RAM 3500 HD is a SEMA show truck that’s now for sale. It features an absolutely massive lift — described in the description, truly, as a "massive lift" — and 26-in wheels, along with custom bumpers, LED light bars, air suspension and a wide range of items painted in an eye-catching blue. It’s currently offered by Maximum Auto Search in the Denver area for $76,900 with just 7,100 miles on the odometer. Find a Ram 3500 for sale
