As regular Oversteer readers will know, we've been bringing you a weekly list of the cars across the country with some unusual vanity plates -- like SLOW, FERRARI and FUN. Well, this week, spurred by a reader suggestion, we're covering LAMBO. And boy, is it interesting.

Before you ask, LAMBO returns to cars in 30 different U.S. states, and it's only on a Lamborghini in 11 of them. In the remaining 20 states (plus D.C.), the plate is either not issued and still available or issued to a vehicle that predates the 1981 arrival of the 17-digit VIN.

So what cars have the LAMBO plate? Of the 11 Lamborghinis with the plate, an impressive four are Diablos -- in Kentucky, Montana, Tennessee and Virginia. Of course, we can probably be pretty sure the Montana LAMBO has never driven anywhere near Montana, but nonetheless, it has the plate. Other interesting Lamborghinis with the LAMBO plate: In Ohio, it's on a rare Gallardo Superleggera, and it's on a Murcielago in Massachusetts and New Jersey. There are no Aventadors or Huracans anywhere in America with the LAMBO vanity plate.

As for the non-Lambos with the LAMBO plate, the range of vehicles is tremendously diverse. My personal favorite is Arkansas, where the plate is registered to a 2004 Maybach 57. But there are other good ones, too -- like Idaho, where LAMBO is on a 1996 Toyota Tercel. In Alabama, LAMBO is registered to a 2004 Mercury Marauder.

Take a look at the list and check out the rest of the LAMBO vanity plates for yourself.
