The community of Ferrari Enzo ownership is a small one: Ferrari says they made 400 Enzo models, but probably actually built 500 -- and either way, you probably won't encounter too many Enzos on the road across the globe. But now, there's one for sale on Autotrader for a whopping $3.4 million.

Finished in black and available from a private seller in Studio City, California, this Enzo listing comes with just three pictures -- but they reveal everything that needs to be seen: The car is absolutely gorgeous, and black is a rather handsome color on it, corresponding nicely to the Enzo's lines. Finished in black, the Enzo looks sinister -- or like a Ferrari-built Batmobile.

So why is the Enzo such a big deal? Ferrari has made just five flagship "supercars" since the 288 GTO in the 1980s -- the 288 GTO, the F40, the F50, the Enzo and the LaFerrari -- and that makes the limited-production Enzo one of the most sought-after models from one of the world's most popular brands. But rarity tells only half the story: The Enzo also benefits from amazing performance, as it touts a mid-mounted V12 with 651 horsepower and 485 lb-ft of torque. And it's proven to be a pretty sound investment, too, as the original MSRP was just $650,000 -- a far cry from this model's $3.4 million asking price.

As for this Enzo, it's covered more miles than most, as the majority of Enzo owners leave theirs garaged -- and gaining value -- for extended periods of time. It's serial number 133927, and it was sold new in Utah and serviced at Steve Harris Imports in Salt Lake City. Interestingly, the Carfax report shows a major road trip: it had just 6,779 miles in January 2007 and 12,184 miles in November 2007 -- with a service report at Ferrari of Atlanta in between. I can only speculate on the speeds the driver reached through the Great Plains.

The second owner of this Enzo was in Florida, and now it's offered for sale in Southern California with just 13,089 miles -- meaning it's covered less than 1,000 miles in the last decade. That's a shame -- but I suppose it's hard to fault someone for not driving a vehicle that's worth $3.4 million.
