A streamlined lineup will greet shoppers looking at the 2022 Honda Passport — and closer inspection will reveal that the least-expensive version now costs upward of $5,000 more than it did last year.
That’s because Honda has dropped the base Passport Sport (and the mid-level Passport Touring) from the lineup. It came with cloth upholstery and lacked the sunroof, heated front seats, and leather trim standard on other models. Last year’s Passport Sport was priced at $34,015.
The cheapest way into the Passport lineup is now the $39,095 Passport EX-L, which is also now the only version available with front-wheel drive. The 2022 EX-L has revised exterior styling that helps account for its $1,000 price bump compared to last year.
All-wheel drive adds $2,100 to bump the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) to $41,195.
The new TrailSport version features standard all-wheel drive plus 18-inch wheels, orange and black accents, and standard rubber floor mats. It’s priced at $43,695, and Honda promises that the model is the first of several TrailSport versions of its SUVs that are yet to come.
Finally, the lineup is topped by the $46,665 Passport Elite, which includes a heated steering wheel, cooled front seats, heated rear seats, and a hands-free power tailgate.
All prices quoted include a mandatory $1,225 destination charge. See Honda Passport models for sale
