Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing Make Waves in Miami

Remember the old Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups commercial slogan, “Two great tastes that taste great together”? Well, we may have found the automotive equivalent.

Yes, that’s a Mercedes-AMG GT3 alongside a Cigarette Racing boat. Both are on display at the Miami International Boat Show. The AMG GT3 has a 6.3-liter V8 under the hood with power running through a 6-speed sequential racing gearbox. The Mercedes-Benz press release says the boat “is powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 1,100-horsepower engines with NXT6 drives. The 41-foot-long and 11-foot-beam boat is able to achieve an estimated prop-limited top speed of more than 100 miles per hour with a focus on big water performance.”

Sure, a high-dollar, high-performance Mercedes-Benz race car alongside a Cigarette Racing boat at the Miami Boat Show sounds like the premise of a revived “Miami Vice” TV show. However, if you’re lucky enough to be anywhere near South Beach, it might be worth checking out.
