Nissan Juke Gets Midnight Edition Package for 2013

  • Blacked-out wheels, mirror caps and spoiler contribute to a distinctive look.
  • Package available on all three Juke trim lines–S, SL and SV.
  • Package price is $500 less than individual upgrades combined.

With its prominent wheel arches, unique face and concealed rear-door handles, the Nissan Juke is already a distinctive-looking five-door hatchback. But a new upgrade package that transforms the Juke into the Midnight Edition makes its style more unique still. The Midnight Edition package, available on each of the Juke’s three trim lines, adds blacked-out wheels, mirror caps and spoiler.

The upgraded 17-inch wheels are the same size as the Juke’s standard alloys, but the 10-spoke design is different and, of course, the Midnight Edition wheels are finished in black. Nissan calls the color of the mirror caps and spoiler “Sapphire Black,” suggesting a bluish cast. All three trim lines–base Juke S, mid-range Juke SV and top-of-the-line Juke SL–can be specified with the optional package.

The Midnight Edition group of options adds $1,200 to the bottom line, $500 less than the cost of all the options individually. On the outgoing 2012 Juke, upgrading to black wheels alone costs $1,050, so the package provides significant savings.

A few other upgrades mark the Juke’s third model year, including a wider color palette. Three exterior shades–Atomic Gold, Brilliant Silver and Pearl White–are newly available for the 2013 model year. Furthermore, the navigation package on the Juke SV includes a backup camera and revised Rockford Fosgate Punch sound, and that upgraded audio is now standard on the Juke SL.

Nissan has not yet announced pricing for the 2013 Juke, but 2012 pricing likely provides a close estimate. Manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the front-wheel drive 2012 Juke S is just under $20,000, while an all-wheel drive 2012 Juke SL brings just over $26,000. The 2013 Nissan Juke and the Midnight Edition package arrive in showrooms next month.

What it means to you: Nissan’s funky Juke five-door hatchback is even more distinctive with blacked-out 10-spoke wheels and Sapphire Black mirror caps and spoiler.
