- SRT Viper, other models to go on SRT Tour
- SRT lineup includes five vehicles
- Chrysler has not yet announced all tour dates
Chrysler’s high-performance Street and Racing Technology (SRT) lineup is going on tour. Chrysler recently announced its third consecutive SRT Tour, which will give drivers across the country a chance to experience some of the automaker’s most exciting vehicles.
The SRT Tour kicked off May 9 at Northern California’s Laguna Seca Raceway. Those who attend a tour stop can experience the latest sporty models from Chrysler’s SRT division.
Chrysler’s SRT lineup currently includes five vehicles. Two are full-size rear-wheel-drive sedans: the Chrysler 300 SRT and the Dodge Charger SRT. Shoppers looking for retro styling will like the 2-door Dodge Challenger SRT coupe, while buyers who want more practicality from their muscle car will appreciate the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. But the most impressive SRT model is the exotic SRT Viper sports car, which boasts an 8.4-liter V10.
While Chrysler hasn’t announced dates for the entire tour, the brand did name some events it would be attending. On the West Coast, that includes a car show in Riverside, Calif., along with a “cars and coffee” gathering in nearby Irvine. Other planned events include a hot rod show near Dallas on June 1 and a car show in Cincinnati on June 9. The tour usually lasts until the fall.
For drivers interested in an SRT model, the tour can be a chance to experience the sporty cars up close. At each tour stop, shoppers can check out the vehicles and discuss them with Chrysler’s SRT racing drivers. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about some of the most desirable cars in Chrysler’s lineup.
In some cases, it also will be a great opportunity to check out the latest Viper. Chrysler says the Viper will appear at select tour stops throughout the summer. That’s good news for shoppers who want to see it in person following the coupe’s highly publicized debut at last year’s New York Auto Show.
