Since its American introduction in 2009, Suzuki's Kizashi midsize sports sedan has received a multitude of praise from customer satisfaction researchers. The release of J.D. Power and Associates' 2011 Automotive Performance Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study finds the Kizashi at the top of the list yet again. The Kizashi earned the highest overall score among all purchased and leased midsized cars in the United States. This award follows AutoPacific's announcement that the Kizashi was the top pick for its annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards for the second year in a row.

J.D. Power and Associates found the Kizashi to be the best midsize sports sedan out of 13 other competing models. Furthermore, Suzuki's new car earned the top spot in over half of the individual category ratings. The consumer research firm found the typical buyer of a Kizashi was 10 years younger and had a higher income than the average midsize car purchaser who chose another brand.

Suzuki is very proud of the Kizashi, and remains hopeful that it will rejuvenate consumer excitement about midsize sedans. "This is another great accomplishment for Suzuki, the combination of the J.D. Power and Associates' APEAL Award and the recent AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Award affirms that Suzuki is bringing passion back into the midsize sedan category," said Steve Younan, director of product planning and marketing, American Suzuki. "We are proud of the Kizashi and this recognition from our owners is a strong testament to the hard work that our engineers, designers, and planners have put into this exciting vehicle."

Sales of the Kizashi are up 55% for 2011, making the car Suzuki's most aggressive entry ever into the midsize sports sedan market. The vehicle boasts a tuned suspension and an unusually high amount of standard features for a sticker price below $20,000. The Kizashi is perfect for consumers seeking entry-level luxury without the hefty price tag typically associated with such vehicles. The sedan features a four-cylinder 2.4-liter engine that produces 185 horsepower. Other options available to buyers include an All-Wheel drive system that increases road traction, as well as a high performance 6-speed manual transmission. One major incentive for buyers is the Suzuki warranty, which covers the powertrain for 100,000 mile or 7 years, is fully transferable, and features no driver deductable.

J.D. Power and Associates' 2011 APEAL study surveyed over 73,000 new vehicle buyers and lessees after 90 days of ownership. The responses were gathered between February and May of 2011. Buyers and lessees were asked questions regarding their purchase experience, the quality of their new vehicle, experience with the dealer's service department, and what they liked and disliked about their new vehicle. The survey examines over 80 attributes of a vehicle to determine the owner's overall satisfaction with their driving experience.
