I was walking down the street a few days ago, here in Philadelphia, undoubtedly wearing some sort of heavy jacket and cursing weather patterns, when I discovered the single most mildly interesting thing of all time: this.

What exactly is this? you might be wondering. Well, that's a recent Honda CR-V with its rear quarter panel removed. And underneath its rear quarter panel is a giant "H," which I presume stands for "Honda." This is an unusual Easter Egg that you'd probably never find unless you worked at a body shop, or perhaps if you drove around with one random rear quarter panel removed from your vehicle and no other visible damage, such as this person did.

So what does all this mean? Well, I have absolutely no idea. I assume the giant "H" is on there to show people that the vehicle hasn't been in a severe accident and had that piece replaced with some non-Honda part -- although who would ever look for the "H" in order to know that?

Or perhaps the giant "H" is just there for the usually quiet, modest Honda to do a little boasting. Maybe they figure they'd never want to put giant logos all over the side, or create some huge emblem like Ford does with that blue oval badge on its Super Duty pickups that's the size of a license plate, so they'll just stick it under the skin. And then they know.

Or maybe the "H" doesn't even stand for Honda, but rather Holy crap, you weren't supposed to see this, or maybe it's the name of the supplier, Hercules Industries, or maybe it's the name of some person, possibly Henrietta, who got access to the stamping machine that day.

Whatever it is, now we all know the truth: The Honda CR-V is hiding subliminal messages. And now you know. You're welcome.
