When you think of V12-powered vehicles, you probably think of Ferraris, Lamborghinis and maybe those ultra-expensive Mercedes-Benz S600 sedans purchased by people who make their assistants stand in line at the Apple Store for 9 hours when the new iPhone comes out. But this list, which highlights some of the cheapest (running) V12 vehicles currently listed on Autotrader, proves you don't have to spend big money to get a V12. Of course, we say nothing about maintaining any of these vehicles -- we suspect that will cost a whole lot more than the purchase price.

1993 Mercedes-Benz 600SEL

1. 1993 Mercedes-Benz 600SEL - $3,900

The cheapest V12-powered running automobile currently listed on Autotrader is this 1993 Mercedes-Benz 600SEL sedan with 101,000 miles on the odometer. Listed by a private seller in Macomb, Michigan, but wearing Washington license plates, this S-Class has fallen pretty far from its initial price tag: This thing started at $129,500 with shipping back in 1993, the equivalent of roughly $213,500 today. Now, you can pick up this one for just $3,900 -- a price that's pretty in line with values of other S-Classes from the same era.

1987 Jaguar XJS

2. 1987 Jaguar XJS Convertible - $4,998

Although there are quite a few cheap, V12-powered Jaguar XJS models on Autotrader, this is the least expensive one that appears to be running. Finished in gold over beige with 127,000 miles on the odometer, this 1987 XJS V12 includes the car's unique SC roof, with fixed side windows and a fixed roll bar, but a fully operating convertible-top mechanism. It's available for sale at Raleigh Pre-Owned in Raleigh, North Carolina, for just $4,998 -- a long way from its original base price of around $63,000 in 1987.

2000 BMW 750il

3. 2000 BMW 750iL - $5,000

Arguably the most beautiful V12-powered car on our list is this one: a 2000 BMW 750iL with 193,000 miles, offered by a private seller in the Cincinnati suburb of New Richmond, Ohio, for $5,000. Like all other V12-powered E38 7 Series models imported to the U.S., this one is a long-wheelbase L version. That means there's enough room in back to open the door, walk around a bit, chat with the receptionist and find your seat before the driver puts down the hammer. Once that happens, you'd better be buckled up. Assuming this vehicle runs.

1995 Mercedes-Benz S600 Coupe

4. 1995 Mercedes-Benz S600 Coupe - $5,500

While the cheapest V12-powered vehicle on our list was a mid-1990s S-Class sedan, S-Class Coupes like this one have always fared a little better in terms of resale value. In this case, we only mean a little better: While the 600SEL at the top of this list is available for $3,900, this S600 Coupe is offered by California Imports in Huntington Beach for just $5,500. That's still an enormous discount from the $130,000 starting price -- and in this case, it seems like a reasonably good deal, as this S600 Coupe has traveled just 105,000 miles and boasts a fairly well-kept interior and exterior.

1996 Jaguar XJ12

5. 1996 Jaguar XJ12 - $6,000

If you want a V12-powered Jaguar sedan, instead of a coupe or a convertible like the No. 2 vehicle on our list, you'll have to pony up a little more cash. This 1996 XJ12, for example, is priced at a whopping $6,000 -- more than 20 percent higher than the cheapest XJS but still a far cry from its original $76,700 base price ($117,000 in today's money). Finished in dark green over a beige leather interior, it's offered by a private seller in Houston, Texas, where the seller says it's covered 135,000 miles.

1992 BMW 850i

6. 1992 BMW 850i - $7,500

Certainly the coolest V12-powered vehicle on our list is this 1992 BMW 850i, which has to be one of the least-expensive iconic vehicles on all of Autotrader. Although the 8 Series was initially a sales flop, time has treated the 8 Series well, and values are on the rise. This dark-red 1992 model is still reasonably priced at just $7,500, however, largely because of its mileage: It's covered a whopping 203,000 miles, an enormous number for any V12-powered car. If you're interested, it's available from a private seller in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
