In the general world of used vehicles, most people think that a car with ultra-high mileage shouldn't be worth much money -- and that's largely true. But it isn't always the case, as this list proves. These are the seven most expensive vehicles currently listed on Autotrader with "ultra-high mileage" -- a term I've defined as "at least 200,000 miles or more." And here's a crazy fact: Not one is listed for less than $30,000. Can you imagine paying $30,000 for a car with 200,000 miles on it? It sounds unthinkable -- but here are a few listings where that's exactly the situation.

1. 1986 Land Rover Defender 90 - 269,500 Miles - $65,000

1. 1986 Land Rover Defender 90 - 269,500 Miles - $65,000

As we've all discovered recently, a Land Rover Defender can be pretty expensive -- and this one is certainly further proof, as it's covered 269,500 miles but still retains a $65,000 asking price. Offered by a private seller in Indian Trail, North Carolina, this Defender has a freshly rebuilt diesel engine and a nearly unending list of off-roading goodies that help justify its steep price. It's also tremendously clean inside, which is unusual for an imported Defender, as most have spent their lives doing grunt work in Europe.

2. 2005 Ford Excursion - 217,000 Miles - $56,500

2. 2005 Ford Excursion - 217,000 Miles - $56,500

This 2005 Ford Excursion is offered by a private seller in Mobile, Alabama, for a whopping $56,500 -- despite the fact that it's covered an amazing 217,000 miles since it was sold new about 12 years ago. But this is no standard Excursion: It was thoroughly customized with a long list of equipment, including (as the seller states) "the latest bulletproofing technology." It's also traveled 4,500 miles on a "freshly upgraded engine" -- and while there's no detail on what went into the engine "upgrading," this Excursion clearly isn't just a run-of-the-mill base model that's been used hard. But is it worth $56,500...?

1993 Dodge Ram - 218,000 Miles - $40,000

3. 1993 Dodge Ram - 218,000 Miles - $40,000

I can't even remember when I last saw this body-style Dodge Ram on the road, simply because they've all wasted away -- and yet, here's a pristine one with 218,000 miles for $40,000. Offered by a private seller in Salem, Oregon, this Ram appears to have been someone's sentimental attachment, as the seller claims to have receipts for its build totaling $47,000. That's an amazing figure, but so too is the long list of upgrades in the description -- a list that includes dozens of off-road revisions and improvements for power and reliability. Perhaps most impressive is the general condition, which is shown to be truly excellent in all photos.

2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD

4. 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD - 250,000 Miles - $39,500

Few vehicles cover more miles than heavy-duty pickup trucks -- and this particular heavy-duty pickup truck has covered the most miles of just about anything. Despite being just 2 years old, this 2015 Silverado 3500 HD has already traveled 250,000 miles -- a figure I verified by checking its Carfax report. And despite that 250,000-mile odometer reading, it's offered by a private seller in rural Millersburg, Ohio, for $39,500. That's huge money for a vehicle that's covered 250,000 miles, but not exactly huge money for a truck like this, which likely sold for $65,000 or more just 2 years ago. Worth it? Hard to say -- but it's available right here.

2012 RAM 3500

5. 2012 RAM 3500 - 225,000 Miles - $39,000

Similar to the Silverado 3500 HD above, this 2012 RAM 3500 has covered an immense 225,000 miles since it first hit the road -- and now it's available for $39,000 from a private seller in rural Hurt, Virginia, in the southwestern portion of the state. Once again, this is huge money for a vehicle that's traveled 225,000 miles -- especially if you consider that people don't usually buy trucks like this to drive with an empty bed and nothing on the tow hitch. Indeed, the only way to one-up a 225,000-mile truck is if you have a truck that's towed a trailer for 225,000 miles -- and that may very well be this RAM 3500.

2008 Ford F-350 King Ranch

6. 2008 Ford F-350 King Ranch - 235,000 Miles - $34,500

Here's something I never knew about: a 2008 Ford F-350 King Ranch with the Cummins diesel engine from a Dodge Ram. Apparently, it's known as a "Fummins" ("Ford" and "Cummins"), and it's a somewhat common engine swap when the Ford Super Duty's original engine fails. Of course, it's not a very easy engine swap to perform, which likely helps justify the $34,500 asking price of this Fummins -- despite an odometer reading of 235,000 and counting. You probably won't find another one of these -- but you can buy this one from a private seller in rural Blanco, Texas.

1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet

7. 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet - 213,800 Miles - $29,999

Yes, that's right: Here's a 1989 Porsche 911 that's covered 213,800 miles from new. Offered for sale by Jordan Motorcars in San Antonio, it's a blue cabriolet from the desirable 1989 model year -- the last year of the 911's original body style. Interestingly, despite its odometer reading, it still looks pristine. It features a gorgeous exterior design and a handsome interior with surprisingly little wear. And the Carfax report does indeed verify the crazy odometer reading: After being sold new in 1989, it had 66,000 miles by November 1991 -- and they never stopped piling on. It hit 100,000 in late 2001, and it crossed the 200,000-mile threshold in 2008. And after bouncing all around the country, it can now be yours for $29,999.
