Although vintage Ferrari models tend to command more money, at the extreme, than vintage Lamborghinis, it's Lamborghini models that have a higher floor. While it's not uncommon to see certain used Ferraris selling for $30,000 to $50,000, it's rare to see any used Lamborghini below $50,000 -- even the brand's unloved models, like the Jalpa and the Urraco.

And so, the cheapest Lamborghini on Autotrader still isn't cheap, but it's a lot cheaper than a new one. It's this 2004 Gallardo, offered by JBA Motors in Mesa, Arizona, near Phoenix -- and it's available for "only" $81,950. That's just a shade cheaper than the second-cheapest Lamborghini on Autotrader, also a 2004 Gallardo, which is listed for $82,980.

So what makes this model the cheapest? Well, for one thing, there's the customization: The next owner will have to either live with the previous owner's tri-colored Italian flag adornments around the center console, on the brake calipers and down both sides of the car, or they'll have to pay to change them. Same goes for the custom wheels. And a 2004 Gallardo hails from the model's very first year -- which usually means the most issues and potential problems and the fewest refinements compared to later versions.

Lamborghini enthusiasts will also note that this Gallardo uses the brand's E-Gear transmission, an old-fashioned single-clutch automatic that's prone to pricey repairs and maintenance. In fact, the transmission is such a known issue that the current status of the transmission's clutch could greatly affect the value of the car, to the point where a recent clutch replacement could bolster the value by thousands of dollars.

Nonetheless, this running, driving, decent-looking Gallardo -- with a purportedly clean, accident-free Carfax report -- is the cheapest Lamborghini on Autotrader. It may not be perfect, but it could be worse. It could be a Jalpa.
