There are currently 4,652 different Porsche 911 models on Autotrader, representing all eras and price ranges -- from a mint 993 Turbo S ($795,000) to a GT3RS 4.0 ($599,740) and a GT2RS ($489,000). And then there's this 2003 911 Carrera Cabriolet, the single cheapest 911 on Autotrader.

Wondering how you become the cheapest Porsche on Autotrader? The first part's easy: You have to be a member of the 911's scorned 996 era, which included strangely shaped headlights that have turned off car enthusiasts for a generation. I personally think this whole thing is insane, because the 996 is an amazing car to drive, but I am not the arbiter of these things. I own a Nissan van that looks like a snail.

So we knew the cheapest 911 on Autotrader would be a 996. The next necessary factor to create the cheapest 911: It needed to have high mileage. And this one scores big there, too, as it has 151,000 miles -- not crazy for a 2003 vehicle but insane for a 911, a car usually that's kept in the garage and only used sparingly, on weekends and the occasional night on the town.

And then there's the history. Although this 911 had a fairly normal early life -- its first owner was in Arizona, and then it moved to New Jersey -- the fourth and final owner really did a number on it. This individual purchased the car on August 1, 2014, then crashed it 4 days later, on August 5. The following year, after owning the car for only a little over a year and driving it an amazing 29,000 miles, the fourth owner moved the car's registration to Indiana but used a Los Angeles address. The car was repossessed 3 weeks later.

So here it is: a 911 from the scorned 996 era, with high mileage, four owners, an accident history and a repossession record. It's currently offered by Capitol Motors in Fredericksburg, Virginia, for just $12,995. Out of 4,652 different 911s on Autotrader, this is the bottom of the barrel. And yet, I still think it would be fun to drive.
