Something I've learned over the years is that car enthusiasts tend to forget some of the more unusual "mainstream" vehicles -- vehicles like the Chevy Captiva Sport or the Lexus IS 300 SportCross, which were made by mainstream brands but in small numbers. Double this forgetfulness for Korean automakers, since the Korean brands historically haven't made too many enthusiast cars until recently. Most car enthusiasts have only just begun to seriously pay attention to Kia and Hyundai.

And this is why today's article is devoted to a car I am absolutely certain you've forgotten: the Hyundai Entourage. This was a Hyundai sold in the United States within the last decade. And yet you've forgotten it, and everyone else has forgotten it, and fortunately I'm here to remind you about it.

And so here's the deal with the Hyundai Entourage. You probably know the Kia Sedona, which is Kia's minivan, because it's just been redesigned and everyone likes it, and maybe somebody on your block has it. Well, the second-generation Kia Sedona had a Hyundai twin -- it was the Hyundai Entourage. You probably don't know about it because it was a rebadged twin car (strike one) of a minivan (strike two), and here's the kicker: It was sold for just two years (strike three).

Indeed, the Entourage was offered only in 2007 and 2008. It came in two trim levels -- Limited and GLS -- and offered one engine, a reasonably potent 250-horsepower 3.8-liter V6. While it was canceled after 2008, the Sedona lived on for many years, largely unchanged, until a recent redesign. (And while the Sedona from this era was offered in two wheelbases, short and long, the Entourage was only available as a long-wheelbase model.)

These days, there are just over 100 Hyundai Entourage models on all of Autotrader, with an average asking price of just $6,200 -- not bad to own a rare car that nobody's ever heard of.

Doug DeMuro is an automotive journalist who has written for many online and magazine publications. He once owned a Nissan Cube and a Ferrari 360 Modena. At the same time.
