Overview

The 2018 Aston Martin Rapide S is a luxury sedan with sports-car performance and beautiful Aston Martin styling. Of course, combining those impressive attributes comes at a price, and in the Rapide S’s case, it’s a starting price around $210,000, including destination. That number is before options, mind you, which means the actual cost can be much higher.

So what does that 6-figure price tag get you? For one thing, there’s a standard 6.0-liter V12, which makes a brawny 552 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque — not bad for a 4-door sedan. You’ll also get an 8-speed automatic transmission, which offers quick shifts and delivers 14 miles per gallon in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. That’s not great fuel economy — but for a V12-powered super sedan, it’s not horrible, either.

Speaking of performance, you won’t be surprised to learn that the Rapide S offers it in droves. The Rapide goes from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 4.2 seconds, while its top speed is well over 200 mph, making it one of the fastest sedans on the market. But performance isn’t the only benefit: The Rapide S also comes standard with a wide range of luxury features, including front and rear automatic climate control, heated front and rear seats, a Bang & Olufsen sound system and a thoroughly modern infotainment system with Apple CarPlay. To our eyes, it’s also one of the most handsome designs currently available.
