The Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance technology makes driving Hondas a little easier and a little safer, especially on the highway. This package includes a collision mitigation braking system, which can bring you to a full stop by automatically applying the brakes if the car foresees a collision, road departure mitigation, which can assist you in steering the car if it detects you drifting out of your lane, adaptive cruise control, which is cruise control that maintains a safe distance from the car in front of you, and a lane-keeping system, which subtly adjusts your steering to keep you centered in your lane. All of this tech is especially useful in highway driving and it can take some of the fatigue out of a long highway drive and make it go by a little faster. Of course, none of this can replace alert, attentive driving from the person behind the wheel, but it’s all very nice to have to improve your driving experience.
Luckily for new car shoppers in 2019, Honda Sensing technology comes standard on several new Honda models. Here are six Hondas with standard Honda Sensing on every trim for 2019.
The 2019 Honda Civic is a trusted stalwart in compact cars for good reasons. It has a long reputation for being a safe, reliable, efficient compact that also has a fun-to-drive factor that’s a cut above the competition. All of this is very true of the Civic, which actually got a mild refresh this year to include slightly revised exterior styling, a new Sport trim for the sedan, an upgraded infotainment system now with a volume knob rather than the frustrating slider used in previous years, and of course, standard Honda Sensing on every trim. Another thing we love about the Civic is it’s available as a sedan, coupe, or hatchback which is a level of variety that’s become a rarity in compact cars. Find a Honda Civic for sale
The Honda Civic Hybrid is dead and it’s been replaced by the third generation of the 2019 Honda Insight, which is now a hybrid compact sedan. The Insight is an affordable and attractive entry in the hybrid world with a starting MSRP of just $22,930 and amazing fuel economy numbers of up to 55 miles per gallon in the city and 49 mpg on the highway. The Insight also offers great safety ratings and a surprisingly big trunk for a compact plus standard Honda Sensing from the base LX trim on up. If you like the idea of an affordable hybrid that flies under the radar and comes generously equipped at the base level, check out the Insight. Find a Honda Insight for sale
Much like the Civic, the 2019 Honda Accord is one of the most trusted names in sedans for its reputation of safety, reliability and practicality. The current Accord is the best one ever with a sharp look, a roomy interior, lively, yet efficient engines, and surprisingly sporty handling. Every 2019 Accord comes standard with Honda Sensing, including the Hybrid models which achieve 48 mpg both in the city and on the highway. One of our favorite things about the Accord is that it’s one of the only midsize sedans you can buy that still offers a manual transmission, which is great news for driving enthusiasts who need a practical sedan. Honda has a history of automotive innovation and one of the newest examples of that is the 2019 Honda Clarity. This compact hatchback can be had as a plug-in hybrid, an EV, or even as a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. No matter which flavor of the Clarity you go with, you’ll be getting standard Honda Sensing on every model. The Clarity PHEV gets 47 miles of all-electric range and has a total range of 340 miles, the Clarity Electric can go 89 miles on a full charge, and the Clarity Fuel Cell has a 360-mile EPA rating. However, the electric and fuel cell variants are lease-only and the PHEV is the only Clarity you can actually buy. Find a Honda Clarity for sale
The Honda Passport is back for 2019 as a rugged midsize crossover SUV. It has impressive abilities both on-road and off, particularly when it’s equipped with all-wheel drive with mud and snow modes. It also offers a roomy, well-designed cabin, a potent standard V6 engine, and comfortable seats. Another thing it offers is standard Honda Sensing on every trim. The Passport is a great SUV for the everyday commute (partially thanks to Honda Sensing) and for the occasional off-road adventure making it one versatile crossover. Find a Honda Passport for sale
If you like the idea of the Passport, but need something a little more family-friendly, the 2019 Honda Pilot is an excellent 3-row crossover SUV. This is the only Honda model with three rows of seats that comes standard with Honda Sensing, making it a no brainer if you’re shopping for a family vehicle with a lot of standard safety tech. The Pilot also got a mild refresh for the 2019 model year, which includes the standard Honda Sensing at every trim level plus an updated 9-speed automatic transmission and a volume knob. The Pilot comes standard with the same strong V6 in the Passport and available AWD. Find a Honda Pilot for sale
