Here's a very, very strange one: a top-of-the-line 2004 Toyota Highlander that's traveled just 1,200 miles from new. Yes, I'm serious: This is a 2004 Highlander that's averaged just 80 miles per year for 15 years, and now it's listed for sale as probably the nicest Highlander in existence from this era.

The first question, of course, is whether the mileage is real, as we all would scarcely believe that someone would buy a Highlander and then almost literally never drive it. Indeed, the Carfax report shows that it was purchased in October 2004 in the D.C. area, and a year later it had traveled 514 miles. A service in February 2007 came at 963 miles, then in March 2009 at 1,038 miles, then in June 2009 at 1,083 miles. After that, services stopped completely, and it appears driving stopped, too.

This is definitely a strange one, because very few people buy a car and drive it this scarcely. Yes, sure, elderly people who don't have many places to go will often keep cars with very low mileage -- but never this low. At roughly 80 miles per year, this car likely got gas only a couple of times in the past decade. And given the mileage progression, it's possible the last fill-up was in 2009.

It's a true Toyota Highlander time capsule -- not that anyone is searching for one. But in case you are, this Highlander is offered by Deals on Wheels in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, for $22,000.
