Here Are 5 Great Cars for Sale on Autotrader From Orphan Brands

When a car brand goes away, it almost always means they couldn’t sustain themselves financially any longer — usually because their products weren’t that good in the first place. But here are five cars from orphan brands that are actually pretty good — and they’re all listed for sale on Autotrader.

2012 Fisker Karma

2012 Fisker Karma – $39,950

The Fisker Karma isn’t just an orphaned vehicle — it was the only vehicle ever manufactured by Fisker, which intended to deliver a luxurious, stylish sedan for the plug-in hybrid market. It worked, but only briefly, and now the Fisker Karma is gone — though the new Karma Revero is bringing things back. Still, this is technically orphaned, and it’s a cool car for the money: you get a gorgeous, head-turning car with just 18,000 miles for under forty grand. It’s offered by a private seller in Beaverton, Oregon. Find a Fisker Karma for sale

1994 Geo Tracker

1994 Geo Tracker – $4,500

Geo was intended to be GM’s entry-level brand, with ultra-small SUVs and cars that would bring buyers into the GM fold — where, GM hoped, they’d stick around for years to come. You don’t see many Geo models anymore, but this off-roader like Tracker is pretty cool: it’s a 1994 2-door model with a removable roof and a lift — and it’s offered with 96,000 miles for just $4,100, from a private seller in Chesterfield, Missouri. Find a Geo Tracker for sale

2009 Hummer H2 Armored

2009 Hummer H2 Armored – $235,000

The Hummer H2 is a full-size SUV that was orphaned when General Motors pulled the plug on the Hummer brand — a few years too soon, as it turned out, since Hummer would likely be wildly popular in today’s SUV craze. This H2 is especially cool because it’s fully armored and bulletproof, and capable of withstanding AK-47 fire. It’s offered by a private seller in Florida for $235,000, which may seem like a lot — but really, it’s pretty reasonable, considering the difficulty and cost involved in armoring a vehicle. Find a Hummer H2 for sale

2009 Pontiac G8 GXP

2009 Pontiac G8 GXP – $37,250

The Pontiac G8 was an excellent sedan, touting rear-wheel drive and a sporty platform — but the GXP model was really the one to have, as it touted an impressive 415-horsepower V8 that made it tremendously quick. G8 GXP models are excessively desirable on the used market, and they still bring big money — and this one is offered by a private seller in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with just 21,000 miles for $37,250. Find a Pontiac G8 for sale

2011 Saab 9-4X

2011 Saab 9-4X – $19,999

The Saab 9-4X was Saab’s very last attempt at sticking around — a handsome crossover that probably would’ve been a hit, had General Motors not pulled the plug a few months after it came out. Very few 9-4X models made it into consumer’s hands, but this is one that did — and it’s pretty nice, with 96,000 miles and touting surprisingly excellent condition. It’s offered by Dan Deery Toyota in Cedar Falls, Iowa, for $19,999. Find a Saab 9-4X for sale
