Mitsubishi has announced updates to its mid-size Endeavor SUV, adding some standard features to its top SE trim level. For 2011, the SE comes with the formerly optional Navigation and Sunroof Package. This also includes a DVD-based touchscreen navigation system, rear-view camera, power sunroof and a cargo cover.

To account for the new features, the 2011 Endeavor SE is $2,100 above last year’s model, but to get the same package on a 2010 model meant spending an extra $2,500, so the newly-upgraded version offers a saving of $400. The SE now starts at $32,099 and sports automatic climate control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, an in-dash six-disc CD changer, heated front seats, XM satellite radio, and leather upholstery. All-wheel drive is available for an extra $1,500.

The lower level Endeavor LS, only available with front-wheel drive, is unchanged except in base price, which jumps by a modest $300. It now starts at $28,299 and comes standard with dual front and front side airbags, curtain side airbags, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, remote keyless entry, Bluetooth, and a CD player.

Options on both models include a remote starter, iPod connectivity and a tow package.

Facelifted in 2006 and 2010, the Endeavor has flown under most buyers’ radars since its 2004 debut. Sharing a platform with Mitsubishi’s similarly low-profile Galant sedan, it offers a standard 225-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 engine coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission.
