Editor’s note: If you’re looking for information on a newer Lexus NX, we’ve published an updated review: 2019 Lexus NX Review.
Did you know that Lexus now makes a compact crossover? Called the 2015 Lexus NX 200t, it’s one face you’re not likely to forget. Behind its bold looks, the NX is like any other Lexus, with great luxury features and quality construction. The daring sheet metal should broaden the NX’s appeal to new demographics. We put together five reasons to give this Lexus a look.
No doubt about it, the NX 200t makes a strong first impression. Lexus calls its models’ prominent new nose the "spindle grille," and the NX has the craziest one yet. Drivers will see you in their rearview mirror and get out of your way. But it’s not just the nose: The NX has aggressive lines and angles everywhere. It looks like a preview of what cars will look like 10 years from now. Old Lexus models tried to blend in, but new Lexus models are all about making a statement.
Performance and Efficiency
The NX only offers one engine: a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder — and it’s a keeper. Thanks to turbocharging, Lexus squeezes 235 horsepower out of the engine, helping the NX do 0-to-60 in about 7 seconds flat. Plus, it offers a solid 28 miles per gallon on the highway. Whatever you’re up to behind the wheel, the 6-speed automatic transmission will make sure that shifting is consistently smooth and confident. See the 2015 Lexus NX models for sale near you
Based on its cutting-edge styling, you know the NX is going to bring the technology inside as well. Standard features include Bluetooth, voice controls and a 7-inch display screen with an available touchpad. Check out the stylish dashboard, too — this car’s straight out of a sci-fi movie, right? In a segment full of familiar choices, the NX’s high-tech character should help it stand out.
Plenty of Passenger Space
Don’t be fooled by the NX’s compact dimensions — it’s made to seat adults in both rows. Up front, the sporty bucket seats offer plenty of adjustments, while the back seat can handle tall guys with ease. It’s refreshing to find a compact crossover that doesn’t feel like one when you have a full house. Apparently you don’t need a big crossover to get big passenger space.
With available all-wheel drive and a pleasantly firm suspension, the NX almost has a European feel on the road. The steering reacts quickly to inputs, and the body stays pretty flat in corners. If you like a crossover that makes you feel like part of the action, the NX delivers like no other Lexus SUV. It’s great for zipping around the city, too, and squeezing into tight spots.
There’s a lot more to the 2015 Lexus NX 200t than just its assertive looks. Head over to your Lexus dealer and see if you agree. Find a Lexus NX for sale
