2016 Mazda3: 5 Reasons to Buy – Video

If you’re looking for information on a newer Mazda3, we’ve published an updated review: 2019 Mazda3 Review

There are endless selections of compact cars out there, but how many actually have it all? The 2016 Mazda3 is not to be overlooked. Sporty and charming, here are five reasons why the Mazda3 offers undeniable appeal.

Stellar Looks

Sometimes discrete, sometimes obvious — either way, expect the Mazda3 to turn heads. Whether in sedan or hatchback form, its longer hood, curves and athletic front grille signify a sporty vibe. Coming standard are 16-inch wheels and power-folding mirrors. Overall, the Mazda design team gets high marks.

Fun to Drive

Some may not need anything more than a test drive to seal the deal. The Mazda3’s suspension and agility on turns makes driving exciting, and it brakes with confidence. In this class, there’s a lot of talk about stellar performance, but the Mazda3 certainly walks the walk in this regard. See the 2016 Mazda3 models for sale near you

Attractive Price

There are tons of overpriced compact cars on the market these days. The Mazda3, however, starts under $18,000. Our s Grand Touring test car is around $25,600 when fully loaded up — very reasonable when you take in its premium-level features. When comparing it to the field, the Mazda3 brings serious bang for your buck.

Filled With Features

Mazda’s generosity is evident in its features. A useful 7-in touchscreen with Bluetooth, a USB port and a rearview camera all come standard. Premium upgrades include dual-zone climate control, heated seats and a powerful 9-speaker Bose audio system — luxurious touches that are easy on the pocket.

MPG With Performance

Unlike other models in this segment, the Mazda3 doesn’t compromise performance to get great gas mileage. The i trim levels bring a quick 2.0-liter, 155-horsepower 4-cylinder that returns 30 miles per gallon in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. There’s also a 2.5-liter that pumps out 184 horses yet still earns around 31 combined mpg — fantastic numbers all around.

Autotrader Says

Overwhelmed when shopping for a compact car? Remove the dead weight. With a strong combination of efficiency, great styling, 5-star safety and flat-out fun, the 2016 Mazda3 should be at the top of your list. Find a Mazda3 for sale
