If you’re looking for information on a newer Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, we’ve published an updated review: 2019 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack Review
So you need an SUV, eh? Not so fast. The Volkswagen Golf Alltrack is a cargo-carrying champion, with 66.5 cu ft. of maximum cargo space. That’s more than most compact crossover SUVs, and it’s not that much smaller than some midsize models. More of that cubic-footage is spread length- and width-wise, as opposed to being up high where it’s less useful. In other words, you can probably store even more than the numbers would indicate. But it doesn’t stop there. Since its roof is lower, it’s much easier to stow things up top, including roof boxes, skis, kayaks or whatever your latest adventure calls for.
In this video, we demonstrate its various cargo-carrying abilities, including mounting a Yakima FullBack 2 bike rack to its tailgate. If you’re looking for a great choice for an outdoorsy road trip, we highly recommend looking at the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack.
