- New sale dubbed “Friends and Neighbors” rolling out this month
- Sale will last through the end of December and offer employee pricing for all
- Nearly all models are included in the sale, which offers thousands in savings
Ford is rolling out a new sale that will offer extensive discounts on most models through the end of the year. Dubbed the Friends and Neighbors sale, the brand’s latest round of incentives will take “as much as $2,000” off the price of some new models, in addition to existing incentives.
Set to run from November 3 through January 4, 2016, the sale covers virtually every 2014, 2015 and 2016 model except for the new F-150 Raptor, some high-performance versions of the latest Mustang and a few F-Series and E-Series models designed for commercial buyers. That means popular models such as the Escape, Focus, Fusion, Explorer, Edge and F-150 will all be included in the sale.
While Ford has not yet commented on a reason behind its huge sale, the automaker is likely attempting a year-end push to increase market share and build momentum. A confidential 20-page guide leaked to Automotive News that details the sale includes a note from Ford Director of U.S. Marketing Chantel Lenard and Executive Director of Sales David Mondragon calling the Friends and Neighbors program “truly a rare deal that we can leverage into huge sales and maximized profits.”
So exactly how much money can you save by buying a new vehicle under the Friends and Neighbors program? According to the leaked guide, the deal essentially offers employee pricing for regular customers, with some models available for only a few hundred dollars above the invoice price. That’s good news for shoppers interested in a new Ford, as it can mean hundreds — or thousands — of dollars off existing incentives.
Although Ford has not yet confirmed details of the program, the automaker is expected to begin advertising the sale shortly. It is not yet known whether competitors such as General Motors, Chrysler, Toyota or Honda will follow the automaker’s lead with dramatic sales programs of their own.
What it means to you: If you were thinking about buying a new Ford, the brand’s Friends and Neighbors program is a great chance to get the best deal possible.
