If you’re looking for information on a newer Kia Stinger, we’ve published an updated review: 2019 Kia Stinger Review
Kia is really exploring and testing new boundaries — they now have a hot, new sport sedan called the Stinger. The Kia Stinger is an all-new model that has some serious appeal, especially when you consider its value. Here is a quick look at why you need to test-drive the 2018 Kia Stinger GT.
So taking the hp from a sheer numbers standpoint, it may not seem like anything that will blow you away. However, once you get inside it’s a completely different story. The Stinger GT’s 365 hp, according to Kia, will do zero to 60 in a quick flash of 4.7 seconds.
The Stinger has that sharp fastback design that is pretty popular these days. The higher Stinger GT trim level has a solid grille up front, LED running lights, 19-in alloys and dual chrome exhaust tips.
167 mph Top Speed
The Stinger is a true sport sedan and has paddles shifters and five selectable drive modes. Want rear-wheel or all-wheel drive? In any form, the Stinger GT is up for anything. The twin-turbo V6 is impressive and has a top speed of around 167 mph. See the 2018 Kia Stinger models for sale near you
720 Watts/15 Speakers
Inside, the Stinger has a floating touchscreen display, which you can connect to your smartphone via the UVO eServices features. The interior has a modern layout and is aircraft-inspired. The GT has Nappa leather and the driver seat power adjusts 12 ways to find that perfect position. If great sound is a must-have, go for the available Harmon Kardon sound system. Talk about powerful, it has 15 speakers and an amazing 720 watts.
Now when it comes to fast corners and handling, the Stinger doesn’t quite deliver that confidence that say a BMW or a Lexus will give you. Then again, the Stinger is a completely new model and those foreign heavyweights have been at it far longer.
The 2018 Kia Stinger GT starts just over $38,000. Remember this was designed to compete with top foreign luxury brands. So is it worth it to step away from a BMW and into a Stinger GT? The best way to find out is to take one for a spin.
