Video | 2018 Toyota Camry: Real World Review

If you’re looking for information on a newer Toyota Camry, we’ve published an updated review: 2019 Toyota Camry Review

Shopping for a reliable 4-door sedan? Well, here’s one that just got a lot more exciting. Introducing the new 2018 Toyota Camry.

Change can be scary, and Toyota has a lot on the line redesigning the Camry. It’s been the best-selling car in America for over a decade. Thankfully, its new look, improved handling and thoughtful interior design hit all the right notes.

We spent time with the 4-cylinder XSE trim, which has slightly sportier styling than the more traditional LE or XLE trim levels.

From first look, you can see there’s nothing boxy or boring about this Camry. It’s lower, longer, wider and curvier. From every angle, it has much more personality than before. See the 2018 Toyota Camry models for sale near you

With sharper handling and a more composed drive, the Camry is actually fun to drive, and the 4-cylinder engine is surprisingly responsive. In fact, a lot of drivers may like it better than the V6.

The designers put a lot of thought into the interior. Soft touch surfaces and detailed stitching give the cabin an almost luxurious feel. With a lower seating position and a sleek, sweeping dash, the interior definitely feels tailored to the driver.

So, yes, it’s sportier. But don’t worry, it’s just as practical as ever. Car seats are easily installed thanks to a roomy backseat with adjustable headrests. And the trunk can handle several pieces of luggage.

We also like the updated Entune 3.0 infotainment system, which is much faster and easier to use now, and includes a 4G Wi-Fi Hotspot on premium setups. And with three USB ports and an available wireless charging pad, everyone can stay connected. We only wish Android Auto and Apple CarPlay had been included in the tech updates. However, there are work-arounds, and you can even send and receive text messages.

As for safety, the Camry has you covered with a ton of driver assist technology, most of which comes standard. Even the base model includes Forward-Collision warning with auto brake, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and lane-keep assist.

With its new look, enhanced handling and sophisticated interior, the all-new 2018 Toyota Camry will likely continue to be a best-seller for many years to come.
